Christmas Market and Lights Switch
Time & Location
About the Event
Christmas is coming and this year things will be getting back to normal as the different organisations around the Town come together to bring the sparkle back to Christmas. Harleston’s Future Events Team and Harleston Town Council’s Christmas Light’s Team are busy sorting out the lights for the clocktower and around the town which will make the Town look really festive.
The annual Christmas raffle is back, with tickets on sale soon, and there will be a shop window competition on the theme of the 12 days of Christmas, with the winner announced at the Christmas Lights Switch on.
On the Market Place and Exchange Street there will be an all-day market with an eclectic range of stalls, selling local produce, crafts, all manner of things Christmas as well as street food. St John’s church will be running their coffee morning with cakes and craft stalls too.
Santa will be making his way from Lapland to his special grotto in Harleston Information Plus and in the afternoon, there will be live entertainment from 3.00pm leading up to the Christmas lights “Switch on” at 5.30pm.
Around the town there will be characters in festive costume in the streets and mini carousels in The Swan yard for children.
Thanks to JD Young and their continued sponsorship of the Christmas tree for the Market Place which has now been ordered and will be delivered towards the end of November.
