About the Event

The historic and inspirational Mayflower story will be told by means of a brand new DVD produced by Focus Business Communications for the national Mayflower commemoration.  People in the US and UK are aware of the story of Mayflower Pilgrims sailing to the New World, the connection to Thanksgiving and the role of Native Americans helping the new arrivals, but beyond that many are unfamiliar with the details.   This DVD is to tell audiences of all ages about the “backstory” that led up to the voyage 400 years ago, and to give an insight into how “Old England” helped shape the people who left for “New England” and so share a common heritage. The DVD will not even be released until January 2020, but Harleston’s Future have been able to secure a pre-release copy. The film will be introduced by local historian, Margaret Griffiths, and the event is the first in a series of talks planned to take place throughout the year.

Tickets £5 per person (£4 concessions) include complimentary Christmas mince pie and can be reserved at info@harlestonsfuture.org.uk  (pre-booking recommended) - or can be purchased at the door.
