Personalities, Puritans and Pestilence in 17th Century Harleston
Time & Location
About the Event
An illustrated online talk.
Local historians Gordon Lascelles and Stephen Poulter present some of the highlights from a trove of original documents recently discovered by volunteers working on the Harleston 1600s Historical Research Project.
Due to government guidelines on social distancing they will use the online application Zoom to share stories of a number of the town’s leading residents and also how, in 1627, remarkably familiar lockdown measures prevented the spread of the plague, which threatened the entire population of Harleston.
