About the Event
There will be a wonderful party in Harleston on Saturday 7 August. ‘Team Harleston’ are a collection of groups and organisations within Harleston who are working together to create a town wide celebration. Harleston's Future are proud to be part of the Team.
'Towards Tomorrow' is being coordinated by Harleston Town Council and will celebrate life with less social distancing restrictions. An event which is bigger than an individual organisation could have produced alone. Live music, street market, children's activities, guided walks, competitions, treasure trail and more.
The roads will be closed from 11:00am until 6:00pm to allow safe pedestrian use of the roads. Free parking will remain in the pubic car parks.
Food and Craft stalls in the Market Place along the Thoroughfare, Exchange Street and Church Street. Shops will open onto the street to welcome more people.
Live entertainment on the Market Place from 12:00. Lee Vasey will be performing from 2:00pm until 5:00pm.
FREE Guided Walks at 1:00pm and 2:00pm to highlight the history of Harleston. Please meet under the arches to the Swan Hotel.
Step back in time, throughout the day there will be display in the Swan carvery of a 00 gauge working model of Harleston railway station and yard as it might have been in the period between 1908 and closure of the line in 1966.

Help make a lasting memento of Harleston coming together as lockdown begins to ease in the Holding Hands Community Art Project, pop into the Swan carvery and decorate a wooden token to add to the wishing tree.
