Guided Walk: Harleston at War
Time and Location
About The Event
This walk will show how Harleston was subject to two invasions; firstly the potential threat from the Nazi army, then an actual and friendly one by the Americans in WWII. Aspects of life at the time will be revealed, and the significance of key places pointed out and their story told. There will be poignant reference to WWII as we celebrate 75 years since the end of hostilities and armistice, ‘lest we forget’. So, for both visitors and locals this is an opportunity to see a unique aspect of the town’s past.
Tickets £4.00 per adult, children under 15 accompanied by an adult go free. There are a series of guided walking tours around the town throughout the summer. All walks last about two hours.
