The Harleston Museum was opened on 3rd July in 1982 to provide a permanent home for the exhibits. A photograph of the opening shown in the South Norfolk News featured Miss Claire Allured, at 87 the town's oldest resident, dressed in Victorian clothes signing the visitor's book.
The Museum is open from the beginning of May until the end of September.
Opening Hours are:
Wednesday -- 10.00 a.m. until 12.30 p.m.
Saturday -- 10.00 a.m. until 12.30 p.m.
Next Museum Events
Harleston and District Historical Society meet in the Carvery of the Swan Inn on the last Wednesday of each month except August and December. The meetings start at 19.30 and last about 2 hours. They usually consist of a speaker who has a link to East Anglian History.
